Trace in the Press: Daily Scanner, Business Insider, Yahoo Finance, and What It Means

Big day for the Trace team.

Daily Scanner just ran a piece on what we're building: three Howard University engineers rebuilding the AI-native design and manufacturing layer for hardware.

The press cycle over the last few weeks has been genuinely surprising. Between the Daily Scanner feature, the Business Insider piece, and Yahoo Finance coverage, our inbound has gone up 4x. Design firms, OEMs, defense-adjacent companies — most coming in cold off the articles.

The thesis is simple: whoever owns the design layer routes the manufacturing. As hardware becomes strategic infrastructure again, the design layer becomes the control point. That is what Trace is.

We are not building another EDA tool that sits between your schematic and your manufacturer. We are building the layer that connects them — where design decisions flow directly into manufacturing constraints, where supply chain awareness lives inside the schematic, where a board goes from concept to fab without the engineer manually bridging six disconnected tools.

The coverage validates the timing. Hardware is becoming a national security priority. Tariffs are reshaping supply chains. Companies that used to offshore everything are now looking for tools that can route designs to domestic fabs. The design tool is the first decision point — and right now, every major EDA tool routes that decision to Shenzhen by default.

Grateful for the support. A lot more shipping soon.
